#FASTEN Jirachi!
Hi everyone! <3 I *just* finished putting Jirachi together for the second #PINSforPALS art swap and I'm soooo happy to share him with y'all! This is definitely my favourite project from this year!
This time around, I am trading with a local artist named @cjartcanada. She makes super cute enamel pins, patches, keychains! If you are a fan of Card Captor Sakura, Sailor Moon or Pokemon, you gotta check out her shop! Anywho, she fancies Jirachi quite a bit and asked me to make one. As a fellow Jirachi mega-fan, I said "sure" and off I went!
As I was taking a look around the internet for some inspiration, I came across pictures of DannieBoop's amazing Jirachi on Ravelry! DannieBoop has generously made the pattern available for free on their blog. If you are a fan of Jirachi like I am, I 10000000% recommend that you check it out! It is perhaps the most faithful amigurumi representation of Jirachi that I've seen so far! They have other wonderful patterns up on the blog, so I highly recommend that you check it out & show some love <3!
Here's my beloved plushie next to my Jirachi WIP in its early stage! |
Please note that the original pattern (and all credit) belongs to DannieBoop! For the original pattern, check out DannieBoop's blog post. Here are just some modifications that I made for my Jirachi. :)

I followed a majority of the original pattern for these parts.
I removed rounds from the following body parts:
Head
- removed round 24
Star Headpiece
- removed round 1
* I began each headpiece with a Magic ring sc 6. I continued the pattern as written from round 3.
Legs
- removed round 8
Torso
- removed rounds 20-24
I continued the pattern as written from round 25 onward.
Sewing together Jirachi's headpieces were a real challenge. To assist with symmetry, sew on the side head pieces first. I left about a 6-stitch gap between them. |
Annnnnd that's a wrap!
What did you think? Are you a fan of the changes? I love the end result and I really hope @cjartcanada does, too!! Please show some love to the original artist and check out DannieBoop's gallery on Ravelry! Thanks for reading! Take care and stay safe, y'all!
Cindy.
